Terminal Managers Give Back to Community

June 21, 2016

We rely on our communities and our communities rely on us.

The Center for Active Seniors (CASI), located in Davenport, Iowa is a non-profit organization with activities, classes, education and advocacy programs for issues facing the aging population of the Quad Cities and surrounding areas.CASI operates an adult day care facility called Jane's Place, serving seniors with early onset dementia and alzheimer's; seniors with specific physical needs and seniors who enjoy a daily routine filled with physical and mental activities and social interaction.

They rely completely on the support of volunteers and donations to keep these needed programs going. They had many needs for their exterior including tree and shrub trimming, pulling weeds, washing windows, power washing and overall exterior clean up.

The first day of a 2-day training session in June for Terminal Managers involved getting up early to drive into town, attending a very full day of training and then going out in the grueling heat and humidity (it was a scorcher that day!) to help CASI.All of the Terminal Managers, Directors, Vice Presidents, Chief Operating Officer, and members of the Dohrn family rolled up their sleeves, put on their work gloves and worked tirelessly to accomplish all of these projects.

After a couple of hours hard at work, the team from Dohrn Transfer had accomplished a lot.  Curbs were painted yellow, siding was power washed, windows were cleaned, bushes and trees were trimmed and everyone left feeling accomplished and connected with each other and the community that supports Dohrn Transfer.
