Toll Free at Last!

Dohrn Transfer Company was the first to cross the Centennial Bridge when it opened in 1940. We have been asked to help close the "Toll" bridge and open the "Free" bridge. Dohrn Transfer will be the last vehicle to pay a toll and the first to cross the bridge "toll free." Rock Island has a grand event planned to celebrate this moment for which we have all been waiting.

The official ceremony will kick off May 2nd at 5pm. The bridge committee is still ironing out the details. The ceremony will obviously include the trucks and a party in the Rock Island District will follow.
